It is that time of year again when Newquay holds its annual Christmas lights switch-on, along with a festive lantern parade and fireworks display over the harbour.
Santa’s reindeer will be outside the Hotel Victoria from 3.00pm to 6.00pm for everyone to pay a visit before their starring role in the parade.
The streets will then be lit up by the fantastic lanterns which have been made from local school children and organisations. The parade begins from Cliff Road heading down towards Fore Street at 6:30pm where they stop at 7pm at the bottom of Marcus Hill for the live light switch on by Cornwall’s Pirate FM. Carols will be sung and the Christmas tree will be blessed to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
The evening’s celebrations will then finish with a festive fireworks display over the harbour at 8.00pm.
Visitors can will be able to take advantage of Newquay’s late night shopping, with many shops open until 8.30pm.
