In June last year the photo card licence paper counterpart was officially withdrawn by the DVLA. Since then the records held by the DVLA is the only way of checking endorsements.
If you run a business and have Motor Fleet or Motor Trade insurance you may be wondering how you will check that your employees are entitled to drive.
You will be able to view an employee’s entitlements or endorsements by using www.gov.uk/check-driving-licence to check the licence using a share code provided by the driver. For details on how employees can obtain the share code see here for instructions.
With the driver’s consent you can view the details on a driving licence, e.g. the vehicle categories they’re entitled to drive and any endorsements or penalty points by using the share code provided by the driver. For further instructions on how to do this please click here.
We do everything we possibly can to check that we have got our facts straight, but it’s always possible that we could make a mistake (hopefully not or never would be better). Therefore we would like to make you aware that we accept no responsibility for information that may be factually incorrect or out of date, but we will do our best to make sure that all content is accurate. Our vision behind bringing the blog to the wider community is to keep our clients and prospective clients informed of their legal requirements, the different products on offer and how they may benefit your business and the new schemes we find which we think will benefit you.
